Frog Skateboards & Nick Michel | Vans Skateboarding

Frog Skateboards & Nick Michel | Vans Skateboarding

Frog Skateboards, founded in 2015, is less of a brand than it is a group of likeminded people who’ve come together through skateboarding. New York City transplants Chris Milic and Jesse Alba place Frog’s focus on fun and inclusivity, with graphics that serve as exercises in self-expression above all else—principles that comes through loud and clear in this latest installment of Vans Skateboarding Presents. In this episode, Vans gets an inside look at Frog’s tightknit crew of friends and shines a light on Nick Michel, a rising star in the Vans Family.

Vans Europe | Cracow DIY Adventure

Vans Europe | Cracow DIY Adventure

Vans Europe's Polish skate team joined forces with the Skate or Die skateshop crew to rediscover some of their local gems for Cracow DIY Adventure.

One of the silver linings of the travel restrictions was that the guys could spend time exploring the local suburbs of Kraków looking for suitable locations to build DIY spots in less crowded spaces. Accompanied by Barrier Skate Mag, the crew focused on two spots – Kostrze and Myślenice (Sadly the Kostrze spot didn’t last too long. RIP.). Enjoy.

Kingdom For A Cooler | Vans Europe

Mid-February is always a difficult time to pick a destination for a skate trip in Europe due to the winter. This year the Vans Europe skate team, along with some of the Vans Germany team, decided to fly across the Mediterranean and check out the spots that the Kingdom of Morocco had to offer. As if they knew that this would be the last time they could travel together as they're used to for a while, the crew blazed through the beautiful country without leaving a spot untouched. While chasing the sun and the warmth from Tangier all the way down to Agadir, there was no shortage of laughs, hi-jinx and good times. Featuring: Joscha Aicher, Axel Cruysberghs, Jan Hoffman, Flo Marfaing, Joseph Biais, Marko Kada, Dustin Dollin, Victor Pellegrin, Alexey Krasniy, Yeelen Moens, Oscar Candon, Chris Pfanner, Kalle Wiehn, Pepe Tirelli & Val Bauer.

THE TONY ALVA STORY | VANS

THE TONY ALVA STORY | VANS

One of the key figures in the early evolution of skateboarding from a wholesome, contest based "sport" into the freewheeling art form that it is today was Tony Alva. Tony is now 63 years old, the oldest professional skateboarder in the world, is considered by many to be the godfather of modern day skateboarding. Alva’s brand of aggression and bravado in the 70’s set the stage for the way skateboarding would be forever defined. Vans’ The Tony Alva Story chronicles T.A.’s humble beginnings on the streets of Santa Monica to his rise to superstardom as part of the legendary Z-Boys, his inevitable drug-induced implosion and his ultimate rise from the ashes to accept his rightful place as a beacon of hope and inspiration for generations of skateboarders the world over.

Written & Directed by Rick Charnoski & Coan "Buddy" Nichols/Six Stair Productions

Starring: Tony Alva, Jeff Grosso, Wynn Miller, Steve Olson, Shepard Fairy, Gus Van Sant, Josh Brolin, Jeff Ament, Glen E Friedman, Robert Trujillo, Brad Bowman, Pete Zehnder, Jeff Ho, Stacey Peralta, Elijah Berle and more.

Jeanne Duval | 21. - VANS

Jeanne Duval | 21. - VANS

Sharing the common vision of a purely black and white aesthetic, filmmaker Claudia Lederer followed Vans' French skateboarder, Jeanne Duval, through an urban quest made of lines, curves, simplicity, details, shadows and light. This project is an attempt to transcribe Jeanne’s personal universe, endowed with a discreet personality whose sensitivity is mainly expressed through her skateboarding. Built up like a slow poetic journey, it was filmed Pre-Covid in several cities of France (Paris, Nantes & Biarritz areas). Each spot visited has been picked for its architectural & graphic dimension. 21. is a personal vision of skateboarding.
