Jarne lives in Belgium. He grew up in his hometown of Mechelen, skating industrial parks and a mini ramp, making the best of a challenging environment and rough weather conditions. Jarne’s talent and creative skateboarding have been gradually rowing ever since and reached global recognition in 2016. Jarne released 3 video parts back to back and was featured on several magazine covers that year alone. After the release of his New World Element part on The Berrics, Jarne broke the internet with the release of Never Skate Bored on Thrasher. The project scored more than 6 millions views worldwide and became one of the most successful Thrasher part releases. Later during the year, Jarne partnered up with fellow Element pro rider Phil Zwijsen and released Double Impact on Thrasher and ultimately received the best double part award at the 2017 European Skate Awards. Element is really proud to announce Jarne as the next European Pro.

For over a decade the Elemental Awareness foundation has been traveling across the nation visiting Indian reservations to empower their skate scenes and give away massive amounts of product. This year we visited the Lakota reservation in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. The road was long, cold, and our van broke down on our way there. Luckily, we (somehow) borrowed a big rig truck from a diesel repair shop in Nebraska, crammed all of our stuff into it, learned how to drive it, and made it to our events.
The reservations of our nation are notorious for their poverty, substance abuse, and high teen suicide rate. What you don't always hear about are all of the wonderful things that coexist with the bad: the smiles, the high fives, the communities, the ceremonies, the kickflips, and the grinds. Those are the things we saw and focused on during our visit. In the words of the great Lakota Chief, Sitting Bull, “Let us put our minds together and see what life we can make for our children.”
We had a wonderful experience sharing skateboarding with the children of the reservation, and cannot wait to visit again. Special thanks to Walt from the Stronghold Society and Dana, David and Sky Anselmo for helping make this trip possible.

Chad Tim Tim, Levi Brown, and Chris Colbourn travel to Cuba with the Elemental Awareness Foundation to link up with the non-profit Cuba Skate, help build a DIY skate park for the locals of Havana, and of course- have some fun! Elemental Awareness give back trips are designed to support skateboarding at the community level where skateboarding is popular but access to skateboards is limited or non-existent. Element brand presents their latest collaborative project with Fluff magazine.
Fluff is the brainchild of Element Advocate, skateboarder and autodidact photographer Marcel Veldman and Marco Jongeneel, art director and owner of agency Vijf890. It is not your average skateboard magazine with each issue taking a new conceptual approach.
The project features Element rider Brandon Westgate and Nassim Guammaz and was shot in Tokyo Japan by Element pro rider Phil Zwijsen during the Halloween celebrations. The result is a carefree and fun insight into one of the biggest urban abstract celebrations happening in the streets of Japan.
The Element Fluff collaborative collection mixes lifestyle with skate, using photographic print patches on a series of blacked out tee shirts and fleeces.
