Ignacio Echeverría | The Spaniard Skateboard Hero Who Fought a Terrorist

In 2017, three terrorists driving a van ploughed into people in central London before taking to the streets to randomly attack anyone they came across. At the same time, Spaniard Ignacio Echeverría was having a typical Saturday Night out skateboarding with his friends. We hear how those two separate events came together with horrifying consequences.

We also recommend to read the book written by his father Joaquín Echevarría called “Así era mi hijo: el héroe del monopatín”

Jart Skateboards | Welcomes Gabriela Mazetto

Jart Skateboards is excited to present their new 23 yo Brazilian rider who is killing the streets and social media with her best tricks. Once Gabriela Mazetto “Gaby” discovered the magic of skateboarding, she did not doubt to know what she really wanted. Began at 12 yo, skates 4-5 hours a day and she is regular. At only 17 y/o, she participated for the first time in the X-Games Austin and two years later, in 2017, she did it again at the X-Games Minneapolis. Bobila DIY Barcelona x skatedeluxe

“With the rare times that run my expectations of building something big in Bobila were almost nil.

Until one day the skatedeluxe skateshop contacted me and the instructions were simple, we want you to attack the central pyramid of the spot!

I spent 2 weeks talking with quite a few skaters and the concept was quite clear, they wanted a curb with a wallie, some eurogap and above all a long and smooth pyramid for all tastes.

Franky and mini Butcher came up with several clear ideas and from their drawings my job was to simplify and arrange the design.

A month later they approved the budget and we got down to work. Edu (el enterrado) David (Parse) Alex (tabalot) these 3 people were in charge of making the big pyramid that measured 7 meters wide by 11 meters long…

It was a very tough two months of construction, with lots of laughs and unbelievable support! Carrillo, Arni, Xavi, Jr, Nico, Emilee, Pol, Alberto, Manu, Toni, Alvar, Catena and Andrés from Caribú DIY... and all the new generations of the neighborhood thank you for helping skateboarding!

The final result of this spot I could describe it to you here but it is better that you come to the neighborhood and get your own opinions. Many thanks to Javi and skatedeluxe skate shop for making our dreams come true!

Thanks to the motivation generated by this project, we have embarked on a new mission and continue to build in Poblenou, Barcelona, so stay tuned.” - Toni López - Bobila DIY Crew @bobila_project

“The new spot in Bobila DIY makes it so much funnier, with lots of new lines and possibilities. Glad to see Toni and his crew putting it up together to keep the spot alive with lot of motivation. Mad respect for all BDN locals!” - Pol Catena

“I have to say, the obstacles are really proper build and smooth to ride, I feel it completed the park and made it more interesting to skate.
At all, it’s now such a big choice on obstacle what no DIY in Barcelona have. I really have everything there what a skater need! Thanks for blessing us” - Ike Fromme

Enjoy the graphic material that we present you in the form of a video edit and photo gallery about the construction of the pyramid and the locals enjoying the first skate sessions in it, rounded up with a BBQ and some fun best trick contests and battles. In a year with a pandemic that has taken the entire world by surprise, Bobila DIY crew has been able to bring to fruition this great project that aims to support the local scene and skateboarding in general. In circumstances that were not ideal, from the scorching sun in August to the restrictions imposed due to Covid-19. An entire obstacle course that Bobila DIY crew has managed to overcome in the best possible way: with unity, friendship and effort. If you have the opportunity to visit the spot, do not hesitate to enjoy a good session and say hello to the locals who, together with the skatedeluxe skate shop, have made it possible to create an obstacle for everyone to enjoy under exceptional conditions. Enjoy below the edit featuring Bobila Crew alongside skatedeluxe team riders Pol Catena and Ike Fromme ripping up! Let’s hope we’ll soon be able to held events and bigger session at Bobila DIY to enjoy skateboarding at fullest with friends and give the new obstacle a proper session test for everyone. There are already some nice ideas for 2021… meanwhile don't forget to stay safe and healthy!

etnies Buy A Shoe | Donate A Shoe

etnies has been donating shoes to the homeless of Los Angeles for 23 years and will keep on helping those in the streets despite the COVID-19 pandemic.  For etnies, it is a tradition to celebrate Good Friday on Skid Row giving shoes to the homeless during the Los Angeles Mission Easter Event, which is cancelled this year. However, that is not stopping the company from continuing with their giving tradition to the city’s most vulnerable.

For the past two decades, etnies has collectively donated tens of thousands of shoes. This year, the brand is extending the opportunity to its loyal fans to help the brand reach an all-time total goal of 50,000 shoes to those in need through the giveback program.  For every pair of shoes sold on the etnies site from Thursday, April 9 through Sunday, April 12, 2020, the brand will donate an additional pair of shoes to the homeless.

“Doing something meaningful and purposeful for the homeless community has always been very important to me,” said Pierre Andre Senizergues, CEO of etnies. “It means even more right now, knowing the heightened state of vulnerability so many people are living in as the Covid-19 crisis continues. Providing shoes to them is not only a necessity but a symbol of the kindness and concern we feel for the homeless population each day.”
