“We’ve had numerous complaints and fines, had to attend meetings and public hearings. Four years of struggle were spent to get a public space in the Born , to teach, skate, encourage skateboarding and create our current local community” - LEANDRO FISCHER Owner ALCARRER Skateshop

Rather than a skateplaza, we preferred just to propose a new skatespot, designed this time specifically for skateboarding, but using the same kind of public space architecture and materials (black granite)” - POL MARTIN, SKATE ARCHITECTS

Antix | Isla

Antix | Isla

Mallorca has long been a magnet for young German and British tourists, who often drink heavily and enjoy rowdy late-night clubbing.
Daniel Lederman, Marcel 'Locopapi' Rieger, Franco Simeoni, Matze Aigner, VX1000 enthusiast Paul Tiefenbacher and photographer Theo Acworth seeked for happy hours and two-for-one deals, but found a mix of plazas, street, hill bombs and a few crusty DIY spots instead. Enjoy Antix squad ripping up at the Spanish island!

Snipes Squad Up Paris 2019

Snipes Squad Up Paris 2019

Enjoy an awesome video recap and a nice photo gallery from last weekend SNIPES’ Squad Up event in Paris where over 30 squads from all over Europe gather together for a spot on the final which was held on the iconic Place République. With a special focus on the Tangram crew from Spain featuring Thaynan Costa, Octavio Barrera, Dani Quintero following them through their participation on the event.

Only the top 16 teams could enter the contest on Saturday so there was a qualification on Friday in a fresh rat race format under the warm sun of Paris.

Following a book full of challenges from funny stuff to hard tricks, the crews were fighting to gain the most points in order to make it to the contest on Saturday, really good fun! At the end of the day we went to the SNIPES store, had some drinks and snacks to celebrated the awards and the top 16 teams who made it to Saturday’s contest.

This was not your regular skate contest and you could tell just by the location at the iconic Place de la Republiqué, epic! Two teams battle each other at the same time for a few mins in different obstacles of the skate plaza to make it all the way to the final.

The finals were epic and the local crew managed to kept the trophy at home and the 4.500€, congrats on that!

Finals Results:

1st: The Man Dem

@amielkrk

@vincentmilou

@pon_da_toke_toke

2nd: Flatspot

@robbindewit

@shajenwillems

@woodyhdij

3rd: La Mêche

@paulgallelli

@hcorbin77

@hermanogz

As if all of this wasn't good enough, on Sunday was time to chill and relax on boat with a nice ride over the Seine, it can’t get much better!

It was such a good time in Paris, thank you SNIPES for the invitation and for supporting skateboarding with such a cool event!

The collection unites two subcultures on decks and apparel and at the center are Denny pieces with designs from Berlin's 1UP crew.
