etnies visits Apache Nation in Arizona

Etnies were proud to accept the invitation by Douglas Miles Sr., artist, muralist, and owner of Apache Skateboards, to visit the Apache Nation Reservation and skate their new skatepark. The San Carlos Apache Reservation was established in 1871, with the many bands of Apache spanning three counties in eastern Arizona.

The crew included etnies skate team manager Aidan Campbell, Gabryel Aguilar (Brazil), Malachi Gray (USA), Taylor Nye (USA), Evan Tancredi (Canada), and Darrius Hutton (USA).

35 YEARS OF ETNIES 1986-2021 PAST

It started for me with a simple push on a skateboard in Paris, France. As my pro skate life progressed, I was skating through shoes, and knew skaters needed something better. I wanted to find new ways to advance skateboarding. Only a skateboarder could know our footwear needs, and it was time for shoes designed by skaters for skaters. Since etnies begin in France in ’86, the company has continued to innovate as the first skateboarder-owned and operated global footwear company.

PRESENT

35 years since etnies started we continue to support the skateboard, snowboard, surf, BMX and MTB communities. Fueled by passion, we are still pushing the boundaries and giving back. This year marks etnies’ milestones of planting more than 2 million trees in the rainforest and providing 50,000 pairs of shoes to the homeless.

FUTURE

As the world around us rapidly changes, the one thing that won’t change is our push to continuously create the most innovative products that provide the most style, comfort and protection. etnies Buy A Shoe | Donate A Shoe

etnies has been donating shoes to the homeless of Los Angeles for 23 years and will keep on helping those in the streets despite the COVID-19 pandemic.  For etnies, it is a tradition to celebrate Good Friday on Skid Row giving shoes to the homeless during the Los Angeles Mission Easter Event, which is cancelled this year. However, that is not stopping the company from continuing with their giving tradition to the city’s most vulnerable.

For the past two decades, etnies has collectively donated tens of thousands of shoes. This year, the brand is extending the opportunity to its loyal fans to help the brand reach an all-time total goal of 50,000 shoes to those in need through the giveback program.  For every pair of shoes sold on the etnies site from Thursday, April 9 through Sunday, April 12, 2020, the brand will donate an additional pair of shoes to the homeless. 

“Doing something meaningful and purposeful for the homeless community has always been very important to me,” said Pierre Andre Senizergues, CEO of etnies. “It means even more right now, knowing the heightened state of vulnerability so many people are living in as the Covid-19 crisis continues. Providing shoes to them is not only a necessity but a symbol of the kindness and concern we feel for the homeless population each day.”
